Wolves fans are all saying the same thing about Mario Lemina’s exit – one thing is clear

Mario Lemina completed his long-awaited Wolves exit on Wednesday evening and supporters had much to say after his departure.

Lemina’s downward spiral at Wolves is something few could have envisaged a year ago. The 31-year-old was once a vital cog in Gary O’Neil’s starting lineup but over the past six months, he’s gone from hero to zero.

A mixture of poor performances on the pitch, ill-discipline and burning bridges with the fans resulted in the Gabon international becoming the villain of Molineux.

The icing on the cake was when Lemina refused to play against Newcastle. When the team and fans needed him the most, he was nowhere to be seen.

In this moment, his Wolves career was finished and luckily, Galatasaray have now completed the £2.5 million transfer of Lemina, thankfully taking him off Vitor Pereira’s hands.

Lemina penned a questionable exit message after departing Molineux and supporters have now responded to him leaving the club.

Wolves fans react to Mario Lemina’s exit to Galatasaray

Lemina was linked to Galatasaray in the summer and during that time, fans would have perhaps been saddened by his exit.

He was instead handed the captaincy, replacing Max Kilman, and he’s since endured an incredible downward spiral.

Unsurprisingly, most fans were sad that his Wolves career turned out this way. “All the best Mario, we was with you when you needed us most. Shame it was the same back. Shame really,” one fan wrote.

“He was one of my favourite players, but his behaviour Over the past couple of months unexceptionable,” another agreed.

“Thanks for the memories, Mario. I only wish it would have ended on better terms,” a third replied.

“Good riddance,” one supporter wrote accompanied by a snake emoji while another said: “The way he treated the club and the fans after everything we did for him when his father passed, blokes a snake.”

“Bye, good luck Galatasaray. Make sure you stock up on dummies…” a seventh hilariously responded.

The next players to depart after Lemina

Lemina will surely be the last exit until the summer now, although the transfer window in Turkey is open till February 11th while some other countries can still sign players.

The most likely players to depart after the Gabon star in the summer are centre-back Craig Dawson and winger Pablo Sarabia.

Dawson was linked with Leicester on deadline day as a swap deal involving Conor Coady was mooted. Sarabia also has long-standing interest from Sevilla and will likely be released by the club.

The Wolves duo both see their contracts expire in June and given their age and wages, a renewal looks increasingly unlikely.
