Wolves fans are all saying the same thing about Fosun after bombshell manager search news

Gary O’Neil is hanging onto his job at Wolves by a thread, as many felt he should have been sacked months ago.

Gary O’Neil was given the West Ham game in charge, and most thought that losing that match would result in him being sacked.

Remarkably, though, Wolves were beaten 2-1 by West Ham, and the 41-year-old remained in the hot seat at Molineux despite the club sitting second bottom in the Premier League.

O’Neil is now set to manage the Ipswich Town clash and the fixtures beyond, with the board somehow trusting the Englishman to turn the situation around.

Wolves want to find the correct replacement for O’Neil to avoid making the same mistake once more, although hiring a strong candidate is proving difficult.

Wolves fans hit out at Fosun after five managers reject Gary O’Neil’s job

Fosun is the key stumbling block to hiring a new head coach at Molineux, and five managers have already rejected the opportunity to manage Wolves.

The list includes former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, title-winning manager Massimiliano Allegri and Premier League veteran David Moyes, along with Sergio Conceicao and Niko Kovac.

Reacting to this news via X, and in particular the Allegri links, Wolves fans were all in agreement about Fosun, ordering him to sell the club.

“Fosun need to be given hell on Saturday,” one supporter said.

“Fosun out got us to prem and we had 1 season in Europe thanks for that but time to sell up and go,” another replied.

“Never getting a manager of that calibre under our current transfer policies. What even worse is they hadn’t figured that out,” a third responded.

“A PL club that cannot attract a manager really says a lot about the state and reputation of the club,” a fifth replied.

“I mean if you were offered a poison chalice… would you take it?” a sixth questioned.

“Fosun will shoot themselves in the foot until we’re relegated,” another predicted.

Gary O’Neil could make a huge statement by walking from the Wolves job

O’Neil’s records at Wolves are abysmal. They’ve conceded the most goals from set-pieces than any other side across Europe while their defence is the worst in the Premier League.

Equally, the Englishman has won just twice since April and the Old Gold find themselves second bottom in the division.

Yet, the owners are largely to blame for the Wolves’ demise. O’Neil hit out at Fosun’s transfer methods, as he listed off all the great players the club have sold in recent years.

In turn, O’Neil hasn’t been backed with the funds to replace them, leaving him with a squad short on options in defence and midfield.

Failure to address such issues at the back have been the root cause of their downfall, and heading into the clash against Ipswich on Saturday, the atmosphere is going to be toxic.

For how Fosun has allowed the club to go on a downward spiral, some Wolves fans feel sorry for O’Neil, and perhaps he should make a statement by walking from the job.

It would save him from being sacked later down the line, and it would also make outsiders realise what difficult circumstances he’s had to work in.
