Wolves fans are all saying the same thing about Carlos Corberan’s potential West Brom exit – Gary O’Neil has been mentioned

Wolves fans are enjoying early life under Vitor Pereira after winning on the new manager’s debut.

The Old Gold cruised to victory against Leicester City on Pereira’s first game in charge, winning 3-0 away from home.

Pereira made history on his debut, as Wolves fans watched their team hold a three-goal lead at half-time away from home for the first time in the Premier League.

Already, it’s clear that swapping Gary O’Neil for the Portuguese was the right call, however, that’s as far as the topic of content managers in the Black Country goes.

Wolves fans react to Carlos Corberan doubts at West Brom

While it’s out with the old and in with the new at Molineux, there’s less desired change over at The Hawthorns.

It’s been widely reported that Baggies boss Carlos Corberan is in line to become Valencia’s next manager, which is seen as a blow to the Old Gold’s fierce rivals.

The news comes after Corberan was linked to the Wolves job prior to Pereira’s appointment, and fans took no time reacting to the possible change at West Brom.

“Last 2 days have been Christmas before Christmas,” one Wolves supporter said in a cheeky response to the news of Corberan’s potential exit.

“Thanks for the memories Carlos,” another said, referring to Wolves’ FA Cup win over West Brom last season.

The topic of the Baggies’ concerns quickly became a time to reminisce on the Black Country derby victory back in January.

A Wolves fan showed their appreciation to Corberan, saying, “Thank you for giving us that iconic Cunha celebration in your own stadium gaffer.”

Another humorous twist among supporters was the prospect of the recently sacked O’Neil taking the job at West Brom.

“Gary O Neil incoming,” a fan said to taunt Wolves’ rivals, while others joined the fun.

Gary O’Neil will be remembered for West Brom win

There isn’t much better in football than getting bragging rights over a local rival, which is what Wolves managed to do during the 2023/24 campaign.

O’Neil led his side to beat the Baggies to progress in the FA Cup, a game that was filled with controversy.

West Brom were punished for the ugly scenes that unfolded against Wolves, as the game was paused due to fan disruption in the stands.

The Old Gold left The Hawthorns with smiles from ear to ear, with every opportunity to get the better of their rivals celebrated.
