Wolves fans are divided on Fabio Silva after Wolves lost 2-1 to Sheffield United thanks to another poor VAR decision.
Wolves‘ unbeaten run came to an end, however, the circumstance couldn’t be more controversial.
A penalty in the 90+10th minute of the game saw Sheffield United pick up all three points.
The decision, like many that go against Wolves was a bad call, and once again Wolves have suffered at the hands of poor refereeing and VAR.
After the game, fans took to social media with their opinions, with Fabio Silva dividing the fanbase.

Wolves fans divided
After giving away the penalty, Wolves fans couldn’t agree on Silva. One-half blamed him and criticised his performance. While others defended him on social media.
One fan on X who clearly blamed him for the loss posted: “Fabio Silva: comes on in 81st minute, booked in 82nd, gives away a penalty in 96th. Time to get him gone.”
A second fan blamed Silva and claimed Silva is the worst striker in the league: “Wolves spending £40m on Fabio Silva is comical. Worst striker in the league hands down.”
On the other hand, some fans were defending Silva.
One posted in defence of the forward saying: “5 minutes after the full-time whistle and timeline full of people slagging Fabio Silva off having clearly not seen the penalty.”
One fan even has a scathing attack on other fans, saying: “People abusing Fabio Silva, embarrassing fan base. Nobody was going in Hwang. It’s identical. Our fans are pathetic”.
A third defending the Portuguese ace took a more diplomatic approach: “I know a lot of people are going to blame Fabio for this game, but I don’t think he deserves all the hate he is getting.”
Silva wasn’t at fault
The replays and responses from those outside of Wolves show that the striker absolutely shouldn’t get the blame for the penalty. No contact and shouldn’t have been given.
The exact same as Hee-Chan Hwang last week, yet a different response. Let’s get behind Silva as this is 100% on VAR and PGMOL not our young striker.
