Wolves fans are frustrated with current owners Fosun, but reports of a bid by John Textor have left them disagreeing with each other about the possibility of the American taking over.
Following defeat to Burnley, news circulated on Monday morning that former Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor had put in a bid for Wolves.
A new owner is what fans have been wanting, and chants for Fosun to sell ensued against Burnley.
Textor himself, has had his fair share of controversy during his time at Crystal Palace, and he is not a popular figure at Selhurst Park after his actions led to the Eagles being demoted to the Conference League.
Now, fans have reacted to the possibility of a takeover.

Wolves fans cannot agree on John Textor’s bid.
John Textor owns multiple football clubs across the world, including RWDM Brussels, Botafogo, and Olympique Lyonnais.
Most recently, he held shares in Crystal Palace, but the American sold them in order to prevent the club from being demoted from the Europa League.
However, it was too little too late, and now the Eagles are in the Conference League. Similar to Fosun at Wolves, Textor’s relationship with the fanbase was tense.
After leaving the London club, the American seems to want to invest in English football again, and Wolves were on his agenda.
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the news was reported, and there is a mixed response.

On one side, fans just want to get rid of Fosun and do not care about Textor’s previous misgivings.
A Wolves supporter said, “If Textor wants the club, I’m all for it; at least he’s putting his money where his mouth is.”
Meanwhile a different fan stated, “Textor… massive gamble if anything comes from it. But if nothing comes from it, we’re stuck with Jeff Shi, Teti and VP running the ship. No direction, no money spent, going down with a whimper. I’d rather take the gamble. Fosun has had long enough.”
With another posting, “All the people saying he’s worse than Fosun…look at where Palace are now as a club, competing in Europe. Sure, he messed up by having shares in another European team, but the club is in a great position overall.”
However, this sentiment was not shared by everyone.
On the other side of the debate, one Wolves fan said, “I know we are angry and desperate for change, but talk about out of the frying pan into the fire. 30 seconds of research on Textor will tell you that you don’t want him anywhere near your club. Chat with a Palace, Lyon or Botafogo fan.”
Another Old Gold supporter posted, “John Textor would be even worse for this club. There’s a reason he’s offering shares. He hasn’t got the cash to invest, and even if he did, he wouldn’t. Hard pass.”
With those feelings backed up by this fan saying, “He is worse; I’d rather Fosun stayed and replaced Jeff with someone who knows about football.”
It is certainly a topic that has divided fans, but it shows how bleak the situation is at Wolves right now.
Things are turning toxic at the club, with Vitor Pereira clashing with supporters after the Burnley loss.
However, Jose Sa has done his best to ease tensions by talking with fans outside of Molineux following the game.
Wolves have been left in a horrible situation by Jeff Shi and Fosun after a lack of ambition in the transfer window, and they are at the bottom of the Premier League.
That should serve as a lesson as to what kind of owner fans should want.

Wolves fans should not simply accept anyone as a new owner
The frustration among fans is completely understandable; the desire for a new owner is certainly a valid feeling.
However, after years of a lack of ambition under Fosun, fans should simply not accept just anyone to take over.
The fans deserve someone who will take the club further in the footballing world, not someone who has a bad reputation at all the other teams he owns, like John Textor.
It seems unlikely that Fosun will sell anyway, but hopefully someone better can come in and truly tempt the Chinese owners into relinquishing control.
