Wolves fans all saying the same thing after Emmanuel Agbadou announcement – they make clear demand

Wolves fans had a reason to be cheerful on Thursday morning after their first signing of the January transfer window was announced.

Emmanuel Agbadou joined Wolves on a 4.5-year contract from Reims, keeping him at Molineux till the summer of 2029.

The towering centre-back, who has been tearing it up in the French top division, arrives in Wolverhampton at a desperate time for Vitor Pereira.

The Portuguese boss has been without two of his senior centre-backs, Yerson Mosquera and Toti Gomes, with only two available in the shape of Craig Dawson and Santi Bueno.

Luckily, the Ivory Coast international signing for Wolves somewhat negates that problem, and Agbadou will be available to face Bristol City in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Wolves fans react to Emmanuel Agbadou signing

The capture of Agbadou will hopefully kickstart a successful January transfer window as Wolves look to preserve their top-flight status.

Reacting to his arrival via X, many supporters were delighted with the signing, feeling he’s tailor-made for Premier League football with one in particular comparing him to Willy Boly.

“Everything I’ve seen of him online tells me he’ll be the best CB we’ve had at the club since 2018-19 Willy Boly,” one supporter commented.

“A centre half, at long last. Looks a unit, got a feeling he’s going to be a good addition,” another replied.

The overriding emotion, though, was that Wolves need to sign another centre-back alongside Agbadou, with work being done behind the scenes to make that happen.

“Excellent now please sign another CB,” one fan implied.

“Now get another this is a start but we can’t just think this sorts everything,” a fourth said.

“Amazing, another cb now,” another demanded while a seventh exclaimed: “Big for us. Need at least another alongside him in January – welcome Emmanuel!”

Who Wolves are looking to sign after Agbadou

Supporters who want Wolves to sign another defender after Agbadou could get their wish as that’s the position the club are targeting.

Top target Kevin Danso reportedly rejected Wolves however, the club aren’t set to give up the pursuit of the Austrian that easily, seeing him as a great option.

Wolves have also been linked with Chelsea’s Renato Veiga, who can play multiple positions, including centre-back, left-back and midfield.

Meanwhile, Pereira has his eyes on a player for the future, with Wolves showing an interest in Vitor Reis, the 18-year-old centre-back from Palmeiras.

However, with interest from multiple top clubs, including Manchester City, Real Madrid and Arsenal, a deal for him looks out of reach.
