Vitor Pereira has only been at Wolves since December, but he’s already found a way into supporters’ hearts.
Pereira arrived at Wolves as a rather unknown figure, leaving his post at Al-Shabab to take on his first Premier League role.
Though Pereira had faced some Premier League managers during his career, taking on the job at Molineux was his first taste of English football.
It’s quickly become apparent that the Portuguese coach is perfectly suited to the English top flight, with Wolves the lucky owners of the 56-year-old.
Pereira just made Premier League history by becoming the first Wolves manager to lead his side to four consecutive league wins, but that’s not the only reason fans love the boss.

Wolves fans form comparison between Vitor Pereira and Nuno Espirito Santo
Getting Wolves back to winning ways and playing attractive football isn’t the only string to the manager’s bow, as his infectious personality has won over supporters.
Pereira goes to the pub to celebrate wins with fans, making him a Portuguese-born local hero in Wolverhampton.
The good times are showing signs of creeping back for Wolves, a morale so high that fans have been comparing Pereira’s work to that of Nuno Espirito Santo.
“Not felt like this about a manager since Nuno. What a job he’s done and continues to do,” a fan posted on X after Wolves’ win over Spurs.
Another said, “We’re gonna have something special with this guy,” looking forward to the future with Pereira at the helm.
Others went as far as admitting that their soft spot for Pereira is moving him above Nuno in the fan-love pecking order.
“It may be an unpopular opinion and one i didn’t expect to feel myself but because of the passion, smiles, football knowledge, dedication to the team, city and fans and his beer drinking around the city. I like VP more than I ever liked Nuno and I liked Nuno alot.”
“Vitor > Nuno,” another said, as the comparisons kept pouring in.
“Nuno was the man but this guy is something else! He genuinely goes spoons with the fans. you’ll never see that from any other Premier League manager.”
While Pereira has Wolves fans looking ahead to next season in a positive light, Nuno’s work mustn’t be forgotten, as the Old Gold wouldn’t be in the Premier League without their former boss.
Instead of placing Pereira above Nuno, some Wolves fans chose to compare the ‘togetherness’ the duo implemented at Molineux.
“The togetherness in the dressing room is arguably the best it’s been since Nuno’s tenure and that’s all down to VP. What an absolutely brilliant job that man is doing. First the points…”
Another insisted that ‘something different’ is traceable since Pereira’s arrival.
“There’s something different this time round. That feel we had under Nuno, to me, wasn’t there under GON.”
Others credited Pereira and Nuno for being able to understand the importance of connecting the squad and the fans as one.
“It feels great. Nuno & now VP just seem to understand the bond with the fans & how to connect. When that bond exists you fear nobody.”
Pereira will hope to have a first Premier League season like Nuno’s
The only downside of this season is how things were before Pereira took charge, as the Portuguese coach’s highest finishing place has been capped due to a woeful start.
Wolves aren’t yet mathematically safe from relegation, telling of how poor things were when he arrived and how the boss has turned things around.
In his first full Premier League campaign, Pereira will look to finally pull Wolves away from the spaces above the bottom three, with Nuno’s debut campaign there for inspiration.
After promotion to the Premier League, Nuno carried Wolves to back-to-back seventh-place finishes, even embarking on a European journey.
The good times are back, and Wolves fans can sense that there’s more to come, which is something that hasn’t been traceable for some time.
