Wolves fans adamant one thing should happen with Sasa Kalajdzic after recent interview

Sasa Kalajdzic has certainly not had the stint at Wolves he would have been hoping for.

The Austrian striker joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Stuttgart, and was meant to be the answer to Wolves’ goalscoring issues at the time, with Raul Jimenez struggling after his injury and Fabio Silva not ready.

But Sasa Kalajdzic suffered an ACL injury on his debut for the club, which ruled him out for the rest of that season.

Kalajdzic then sustained another serious knee injury while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

Kalajdzic recently returned to full training at Wolves, and discussions will soon take place over his immediate future.

In a recent interview, Kalajdzic did suggest he could leave Wolves on loan to play in a league that isn’t as intense, as he works back to full fitness.

But some Wolves fans have made an interesting suggestion about the star.

Wolves currently only have one out-and-out striker in Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Hwang Hee-chan, Goncalo Guedes and Matheus Cunha have all played through the middle for Wolves but are not natural centre-forwards.

Fabio Silva is one, but it’s expected he’ll leave Wolves permanently this summer.

The club could well look to sign a new player to challenge and cover for Strand Larsen. Alexander Sorloth is thought to be on Wolves’ radar.

But some would actually like to see Kalajdzic used as an option next term.

@C8JP8S said: “Sasa 2.0 incoming, he will score some headers.”

@wolvesey added: “There’s a player there!”

@michaelOLite said: “He’d be a quality addition to the squad. Hopefully he stays fit enough to challenge Strand Larsen for those goalscoring duties on matchdays. Just like a fresh signing this one.”

@SarbJaital said: “I hope he stays and gets a good run out in the first team.”

@jaijjordan said: “Man I want him to succeed so bad.”

@_mb188 added: “not against him staying yanno.”

Pre-season will dictate Wolves’ Kalajdzic decision

Kalajdzic said in his recent interview that he has not yet spoken with the club about next season.

A loan is perhaps the most likely outcome, because Kalajdzic has obviously spent so much time on the sidelines over the last couple of years.

Sasa Kalajdzic for Wolves
Appearances – 14
Minutes played – 327
Goals – 3
Assists – 1

But Pereira may well spring a surprise.

Kalajdzic is back in training now and Pereira is probably keeping a close eye on him.

Perhaps the Wolves manager will want to see how he gets on in pre-season when Wolves can play some games.
