Wolves fan protest update issued for Brentford after Jeff Shi announcement

Wolves supporters have completed phase one of their plan to remove the current infrastructure at Molineux, but there is still work to be done.

In a dramatic Friday night move that felt like a club attempting to douse a forest fire with a glass of water, Wolves announced that Jeff Shi has officially stepped down.

His replacement raised a few eyebrows. Nathan Shi will step into the vacant role but only on an interim basis and will be working alongside Matt Jackson and Rob Edwards.

Put yourself in Fosun’s shoes… who do you want to see replace Jeff Shi at Wolves?👀

It was only last week that Jeff Shi was giving updates on the redevelopment of the Steve Bull stand, though that did get called out as a lie by the council.

Now, the sudden resignation suddenly feels like Fosun is trying to limit the damage and at least look like they may be listening to the supporters.

If they think that is the end then they have another thing coming, as the protests are just beginning.

Wolves protest to go ahead against Brentford

Within an hour of the club’s announcement, the message from the fan groups was clear.

Leading fan group @oldgoldpack on X, confirmed that the pre-planned ‘Our Club’ protest during the match against Brentford will proceed, despite Shi’s exit.

The strategy remains focused on the symbols of the club’s identity, the years 18 and 77, during the Brentford clash.

Will you be holding up an ‘Our Club’ sign during the game at Molineux with Brentford?

Why is it going ahead at Molineux?

By continuing the protest, supporters are sending a message to Fosun.

They want a complete change of ownership, not just one of the puppets leaving the show. It’s important to keep the pressure on whilst there are no signs of improvement.

Relegation still looks like the most likely outcome, and it doesn’t change the fact that Fosun has shown no desire to reinvest and take the club further.

It’ll be very interesting to see the kind of atmosphere at Molineux.
