Lopetegui was supposedly the one to instigate fresh talks.

Negotiations have supposedly been progressing well since the development on Tuesday.

And now, Mail journalist Tom Collomosse is reporting that Wolves are expecting Lopetegui in England from November 13, which is a week on Sunday.

So that would mean Lopetegui would formally start work after Wolves’ game with Arsenal, which is their last before the Premier League season suspends for the World Cup.

Of course, it is possible that Wolves could announce Lopetegui much sooner than that.

Many Wolves fans won’t mind too much that Lopetegui wouldn’t manage the next few games. So long as they knew he was definitely coming in.

People had taken issue with Wolves seemingly being happy to leave Steve Davis in interim charge.

It had been claimed that the club had actually paused their search for a successor to Bruno Lage. But the 4-0 loss to Leicester City encouraged them to resume the search.

An encouraging update in Julen Lopetegui to Wolves saga

So we have a potential date for Lopetegui to actually come to Wolves, and that will delight Wolves fans.

Hopefully though, the club will actually be providing official confirmation of the move before that.

In doing so, it will bring a huge lift to the players and the fanbase.

Potentially, you will get players picking up their slack in a bid to try and impress Lopetegui, who would obviously be watching closely from afar ahead of coming in.

It has felt in recent weeks as though the players have been in limbo. That is set to continue for a little bit longer, but at least there is seemingly now light at the end of the tunnel
