Gary O’Neil insists Wolves don’t need to sell stars this summer
In the summer of 2023, Wolves saw plenty of the stars leave the club as they looked to comply with FFP. Ruben Neves, Adama Traore and Matheus Nunes all departed with few names being brought in.
Many feared a similar case may happen this summer. Pedro Neto has been one of Wolves’ biggest stars this season but has been linked away from the club on numerous occasions. However, O’Neil was able to update fans on Wednesday as he confirmed that the club do not need to sell the winger in the upcoming window.
He told Natalie Sawyer and Dean Saunders: “The good news is, on the player front is that we sold some last summer and we didn’t sign many. We didn’t spend anything in January so, financially we’re in a place where we don’t need to lose our best players, we don’t need to lose any players, so that puts us in a better place than we were last summer, initially.
“So we can make our own decisions on what’s best for the club, rather than what might need to be done. So no one will be leaving if it doesn’t suit us. Obviously, if top, top clubs come calling for players and the price is right and we think it’s better for Wolves, then that will always be a consideration.”

On the weekend, the Portuguese international put in a great performance where he netted a sensational goal. This prompted praise from Nelson Semedo and well as many former stars.
