Wolves confirmed XI to face Deportivo Alaves

Wolves are taking on Deportivo Alaves at 6pm this evening at the Camilo Cano Stadium.

Bruno Lage has been putting his players through their paces in the intense heat of Alicante in the past week, and we will now see where everyone’s at.

Wolves recorded victories over Forest Green Rovers and Burnley before flying to Spain.

Hopefully, Wanderers can continue their winning run this evening.

And the team news has just dropped from Wolves – and it makes for interesting reading.

Matija Sarkic starts in goal, and it appears to be a back four in front of him.

Jonny Castro Otto, Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Rayan Ait-Nouri are listed as the first four names.

In midfield, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker all start.

And up top, there are starts for Morgan Gibbs-White, Pedro Neto and Raul Jimenez.

Gibbs-White enjoyed a tremendous season on loan at Sheffield United in 2021/22, and fans are particularly excited to see how he gets on in these pre-season games.

The starting XI certainly suggests that we will see a back four.

It is something many Wolves fans have been clamouring for for a while now, in the hope of seeing a more attacking brand of football.

New signing Nathan Collins has been named on the bench, but will surely be getting minutes at some point.

There is no Adama Traore or Hwang Hee-chan. Both players were doing individual training yesterday.

Toti Gomes was also doing individual work, but is among the substitutes. Nelson Semedo will not involved, as expected.

Jose Sa is also not involved this evening.
