Ruben Neves commented on Bernardo Silva’s Instagram last night, after seeing his international teammate reach the Champions League final with Manchester City.
Neves and likely many of his Wolves teammates tuned in last night to watch Pep Guardiola’s side take on Real Madrid.
City were looking to reach a second final in three years, and needed a big performance at the Etihad.
And they absolutely delivered one, winning 4-0.
It was a scintillating display, and one that Bernardo was front and centre of.
The 28-year-old scored two goals in the first-half to set City on their way. And his whole performance was just fantastic, he was everywhere.
One man who knows just how brilliant Bernardo is is Neves, who is an international teammate of his with Portugal.
The Wolves ace has shared the field with him plenty of times, and last night he commented on Bernardo’s Instagram post after the game.
Bernardo wrote ‘What a night. Fans were unbelievable and carried us’.
Neves replied with something that many people were thinking after watching him play last night. He said simply ‘What a player’.
Former Wolves attacker Diogo Jota also replied with ‘Goal scorer’, with a heart-eyes emoji.
Ruben Neves knows quality when he sees it, as Bernardo Silva shines for Manchester City in the Champions League
Bernardo, who cost City £43 million, is a special player and Neves is lucky to be able to share the field with him at international level.
One wonders just how much last night’s game will stick in Neves’ mind.
The playmaker has already spoken this season about wanting to return to play in the Champions League.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Molineux, with Barcelona thought to be interested.
He undoubtedly has the quality to play for a top Champions League side, so we shall see if any such side comes in for him this summer.
Wolves are reported to be looking for around £45 million to sell.
