Wolves can now set Premier League first, but it looks terrible for Fosun

Wolves’ season has been history-breaking for all the wrong reasons, and they could now be looking at another unwanted record.

The Old Gold have fallen from a stable Premier League side with ambitions of playing in Europe to a side battling for their status as a top-flight club.

A new low for Wolves was hit recently as they were compared to a non-league side, and in truth, it looks terrible for Fosun.

Now, a new record can be hit for the first time against Brentford, compounding onto the misery supporters have endured this season.

Finish the sentence: The first player on Rob Edwards’ team sheet for Brentford must be ______.

Let us know which player simply has to start!

Wolves on brink of unwanted Premier League history

Wolves are on the edge of setting unwanted history depending on the outcome of their match against Brentford.

The Old Gold are the underdogs according to Opta, but Rob Edwards will be hoping to upset the odds.

That is because since the inception of the Premier League, there has never been a team that went 17 games without a win from the beginning of the season.

However, with Wolves having played 16 games and not securing a win, they are close to being the first to do so in their 17th game against Brentford.

Can Wolves finally win a Premier League game this weekend?

Failing to beat the Bees would hand the Old Gold that statistic, and one that could be held for quite a long time.

If it stood for almost three decades, who knows how long it would stand in Wolves’ grasp?

Wolves hitting this record would be Fosun’s fault

If Wolves end up making history on Saturday in all of the wrong ways, then nobody other than Fosun can be blamed.

The lack of proper investment, and ambition over the last few years has the Wanderers in the position they are in.

There were signs under Gary O’Neil and Vitor Pereira that they were quality head coaches, but unfortunately, they were not given the correct tools to carry the club forward.

That is not to say the two are blameless. Pereira and O’Neil got things incredibly wrong at times, but when manager after manager fails at a club, you must look higher than the dugout.
