Wolves suffered an abysmal 4-0 defeat to Everton on match day 14 of the Premier League season.
Fans have lost all faith in Gary O’Neil as the Old Gold drift further down the table and deeper into the relegation zone.
Conceding four goals to fellow relegation rivals Everton in a game that was considered a must-win was unforgivable, leaving the Wolves manager’s future up in the air.
Wolves were unbelievably poor against Everton, resulting in the away end rightly airing their frustration to the squad and boss at full-time.

What Wolves plan to do with Gary O’Neil ahead of West Ham
It was one of the worst showings from the Old Gold in a very long time, perhaps even since their promotion to the Premier League.
Gary Lineker noted O’Neil’s demeanour after the game, suggesting that it’s almost the end of the road for the Englishman.
That’s what fans want to see and it’s considered an inevitability however, a slightly different stance is being taken from the club.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
18 | 14 | 1 | 6 | 7 | 13 | 25 | -12 | 9 | |
19 | 14 | 2 | 3 | 9 | 22 | 36 | -14 | 9 | |

After the 4-0 thrashing at Goodison Park, talkSPORT reported their understanding that while there is ‘increasing pressure’ on O’Neil, he’s likely to be in charge for West Ham.
That being said, the club hierarchy is ‘aware’ that he’s lost all faith from supporters, with fear setting in for the Englishman according to sources close to the coach.
There’s only so much more Wolves can suffer before a relegation becomes a reality rather than a slim possibility but, the decision at present looks to be keeping O’Neil on for at least the next fixture.
Wolves looking at potential Gary O’Neil replacements
The manager’s post-match reaction was simple as O’Neil stated Wolves couldn’t cope with Everton, a statement that is difficult to digest.
While O’Neil still loosely has the backing of those above him, journalist Liam Keen reported that the club are sounding out possible managers to replace the Englishman – which to many is considered the right decision.
Before facing the Old Gold, the Toffees hadn’t scored in four Premier League matches but were somehow able to put four past the Midlands side.
It was an absolute travesty that unfolded on Merseyside as the squad and manager let the travelling support down in unthinkable ways.
O’Neil still has the backing of those above him although, it’s clear that he’s now hanging on by a single thread.
