Wolves showed impressive resolve to mount a comeback against Arsenal, but post-match comments from Rob Edwards left a bit of a sour taste.
It was very much a game of two halves last night, with Arsenal initially appearing to cruise to victory. The Gunners took an early lead through Bukayo Saka, who capitalised on a well-placed ball from Declan Rice to head in.
Piero Hincapie then added a second for Arsenal on 56 minutes.
But Wolves had other plans, clawed back the deficit thanks to two academy players.
Hugo Bueno sparked the comeback with a stunning goal from outside the box, curling an effort past David Raya to give Wolves a glimmer of hope.
The equaliser came in dramatic fashion, with debutant Tom Edozie finding the net in stoppage time, his effort deflecting in off Riccardo Calafiori.
Wolves show brilliant character in Arsenal comeback
Wolves’ defensive setup was put to the test early on, as Arsenal dominated possession and created multiple chances.
Despite conceding twice, the Wolves defence showed resilience, managing to regroup and hold off further assaults from the visitors.

The defensive organisation, particularly in the second-half, was a testament to Wolves’ ability to adapt and respond under pressure.
When Arsenal went 2-0 up, it felt highly unlikely that Wolves would do what they did. So it was certainly a great show of character as a collective.
Rob Edwards risks wrath of Wolves fans
Unfortunately after the game, manager Rob Edwards did make some comments that were questionable.
He said (via Joe.co.uk): “I just hope everyone has a bit of realism and understands what we’re up against as well.
“We’re not just going to turn up and roll Arsenal over, so it was never going to be easy, especially when you go 1-0 down early on
“So yeah, we would’ve probably liked more backing at that point if I’m being honest, the way we finished, the energy was around, and it was a brilliant feeling.”

Edwards is in no position to be digging out Wolves fans, who are paying extortionate ticket prices to watch games, for the way this support the team.
Supporters have backed this team brilliantly for so long, but there’s only so much they can do. At times this season, it has felt like the players have not given the fans any reason to be supportive.
It’s been a disgrace of a season, and given what has been served up on the pitch, fans are more than entitled to voice their frustrations if they wish. Or they can be forgiven for lacking that belief, especially when in a losing position against the Premier League leaders.
