Wolves ace Tommy Doyle sends three-word message to Morgan Gibbs-White after England debut

Wolves academy graduate Morgan Gibbs-White was handed his international debut for England.

The Stafford-born midfielder was called up to the Three Lions squad for the September international break’s Nations League fixtures.

During England’s 2-0 win over Ireland at the Aviva Stadium, Gibbs-White was handed a 13-minute cameo to commence his senior international career.

While things between the academy graduate and Wolves didn’t end as hoped, the respect between the Old Gold and their former player remained as he made his England debut.

Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle sends message to Morgan Gibbs-White

After recording his debut, Gibbs-White took to social media to commemorate the occasion with a post.

The Englishman captioned a photo he shared on Instagram, “Dreams really do come true,” to which the 24-year-old was met with a wall of well wishes.

One familiar Wolves face commented on Gibbs-White’s post, as Tommy Doyle sent a three-word message to his England U21 teammate.

Doyle commented, “Love it lad,” sending his congratulations to the former Wolves playmaker.

Being a product of Wolves’ academy, many others at the club will be applauding the midfielder’s debut despite there being no love lost on the pitch between player and club.

Wolves cashed in on Gibbs-White at the right time

Looking back, some may wonder what could have been between Wolves and Gibbs-White, as the 24-year-old left his boyhood club to join Nottingham Forest.

Losing an academy product is always a sad moment however, the Old Gold benefited greatly from the midfielder’s sale.

Forest paid Wolves a fee of £42.5m to sign Gibbs-White, who has been incredibly impressive since switching sides.

That being said, having earned full profit from the Compton product’s exit, not much can be regretted on Wolves’ side given the timing of his transfer.

Gibbs-White left Molineux having racked up only 12 Premier League starts, showing his potential as he left to hand his former club a hefty profit.

Putting aside the hostility between the Englishman and Wolves on the pitch, it’s refreshing to see another product of Wolves’ academy make their international debut for England.
