Wolves ace told how he ‘let himself down’ with what he just did

Wolves face a quick turnaround in fixtures following the Premier League defeat to Bournemouth.

Gary O’Neil should make several changes against Everton after Wolves were humiliated by Bournemouth at Molineux.

The Old Gold entered the contest on a four-game unbeaten run, seeing all their hard work dismantled by individual error and poor preparation.

Wolves fans want to see O’Neil sacked after what they saw from their team against the Cherries, as the manager steps back onto thin ice.

Jose Sa criticised for fan incident vs Bournemouth

It was an afternoon to quickly forget for Wolves against Andoni Iraola’s side, as the Spaniard showed O’Neil up.

Iraola wasn’t the only figure on the afternoon to expose the Wolves manager, as his own players did too.

Jose Sa was terrible against Bournemouth, conceding two penalties on what was an eventful outing for the Portugal international for all the wrong reasons.

Aside from his poor display, the goalkeeper made the headlines again as Sa was involved in an altercation with a supporter in the South Bank.

The scenes were ugly at half-time when the event took place, with there no place for such confrontation at the club.

Warning: Video contains bad language.

While the reason for the interaction between the supporter and Sa has not been made clear, journalist Liam Keen took aim at the shot-stopper for how he conducted himself.

“It’s not a good look for a goalkeeper to charge into the stands and lose his head,” Keen said on The Keen & Judah Show

“He’s hot-headed as it is anyway and that can work in a player’s favour. In that instance, he can’t be doing that, he’s let himself down really and it just fractures relationships.”

Sa had the right to defend himself from the presumably derogatory comments although, Keen quite rightly summed up the interaction as a whole as a bad look for Wolves.

“Fortunately the rest of the fans in that area were very good to Sa. It’s just not a good look for either the player or the club.”

What is next for Sa?

After what unfolded on match day 13, Sam Johnstone will surely replace Sa against Everton.

Ahead of the clash with the Toffees, Chris Sutton took aim at Sa for his disaster at Molineux, which could open the door to O’Neil making a change between the sticks.

It’s been a tough season for the Portuguese shot-stopper, who was handed competition as Wolves surprised many and signed Johnstone in the summer.

Sa almost left Wolves during the transfer window, with it now a little clearer that the end of his road at Molineux is in sight.

It’s a tough period for the goalkeeper who offered so much during his first season in the Midlands although, there’ll surely be a chance to make amends this term.
