Wolves ace Pablo Sarabia admits he’s still getting used to ‘very physical’ Premier League

Wolves winger Pablo Sarabia has conceded he wasn’t really used to the Premier League when he first came to the club.

Sarabia arrived at Molineux in January as the club’s third signing of the window.

He was snapped up by Wolves from Paris Saint-Germain for just over £4 million.

Given his versatility, experience and goal contribution statistics, many Wolves fans were really happy with the deal and some were surprised the club were able to get him in so cheap.

It was felt as though Sarabia might just be the best of all six mid-season additions.

But so far it has been a bit tricky for the Spaniard.

He has scored just one goal so far across his 12 appearances for Wolves.

It hasn’t quite been happening for him, and the 30-year-old has suggested that he hasn’t been used to the physicality of the English top-flight.

He said (Wolves official): “There’s always something different happening and there have been all kinds of situations going in these 10, 11 games I’ve played so I’m adapting, getting used to it and working a lot to adapt the best way I can because it is not easy.

“It’s very physical with a lot of pace, so I was not used to these kinds of games and situations.

“But I feel as if I’m improving and working around those situations on the pitch to help my team as much as possible and I keep working towards that but first impressions so far are good.”

Sarabia has started the last two games for Wolves.

He will do well to keep his starting berth tonight against Crystal Palace. Lopetegui will surely make changes given the quick turnaround, and Sarabia probably hasn’t quite shown enough to warrant staying in the team.

Sarabia definitely has a lot more to give for Wolves.

He has not really kicked on from the game against Fulham in which he scored his first goal for the club.

There have been some signs that Sarabia will be a top player though for Wolves.

But at the moment he is clearly still getting to grips with the English top-flight. It is a different kettle of fish to the French and Spanish top-flights.

For a lot of technicians that come to the Premier League from overseas, the adaptation period can be tricky.

We will probably be seeing the best of Sarabia next season once he’s had half a season under his belt.
