Roberto Firmino’s late winner gave Liverpool all three points and sunk Wolves to their second defeat of 2020.
The Brazilian scored just six minutes from time despite Wolves dominating the second half.
Raul Jimenez’s header looked to have made Wolves just the second team this season to prevent the Reds from picking three points.
But chances were squandered which proved costly come the full-time whistle.
Here are three key talking points from the game:
Terrific Traore

Traore showed once again why he is receiving all the plaudits this season.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
The Spaniard caused problems for Andrew Robertson, arguably one of the best left-backs in the league, all game.
Jimenez’s goal came from a Traore cross and he was unfortunate not to end the game with another assist or even a goal.
Robertson also picked up his first booking of the season which is testament to how difficult his evening was.
On another day it would have been a match-winning performance.
Wolves unlucky to lose

Wolves were on the back-foot for the majority of the first half as Liverpool showed why they were so far ahead in the league. However, the second half was a completely different story.
Liverpool looked uncomfortable all half with Nuno’s side the most likely to get the winning goal.
Coming back from behind is something Wolves have been doing all season.
Wolves have picked up 18 points from losing positions this season, six more than any other team.
A whole host of chances looked like Wolves would add to this tally, but were unfortunate to concede late to a fine finish by Firmino.
Jota Returns

Diogo Jota’s eagerly awaited return came as the Portuguese forward came on from the bench in the second half.
He had been out since New Year’s Day with a severe dead leg and almost made an immediate impact.
Just minutes after Firmino’s goal, Jota had a great chance to level but scooped his shot wide.
Rustiness and a lack of game time could be blamed but he would be disappointed with the chance.
Jota touched the ball just 11 times in 15 minutes, and completed just two of five pass attempts.
Nevertheless, it was good to see the forward back on the pitch.
