Willian Jose nets in first game for Sociedad after returning from Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans only saw it happen once, but Willian Jose is already back to scoring goals for Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian striker is now back with the Spanish outfit following an unsuccessful stint at Molineux.

Jose was brought in on loan in January as cover for the injured Raul Jimenez.

He arrived with a big reputation.

But he would ultimately disappoint in Old Gold, scoring just one goal during his spell.

Things just didn’t come off for him in the Black Country, and fans ended up fairly critical of him towards the end.

Eventually he lost his starting berth to youngster Fabio Silva, who had been impressing off the bench as he failed to convince.

Wolves won’t be bringing Jose back to Molineux.

There haven’t been any reports indicating as such, and Jose recently changed his social media bios back so that they now read that he is a Sociedad player again.

Sociedad were in action against Huesca in a pre-season friendly match yesterday, and Jose, perhaps obviously, was among the scorers in a 6-1 defeat.

His goal was really well taken.

The ball was slid across to him from the right, and the 29-year-old opened his body to lift the ball over the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

Whether Jose stays with Sociedad remains to be seen. But it would just be typical if he now returned to scoring goals regularly having struggled so much at Wolves.
