Wolves winger Francisco Trincao has had to withdraw from the Portugal squad ahead of their forthcoming games after he tested positive for Covid-19.
The Barcelona loanee was hoping to feature in the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg and a friendly with Qatar in the coming days.
The 21-year-old had been called into the squad after Rafa Silva and Domingos Duarte dropped out due to injury. But after contracting the virus, Trincao has had to drop out.
The post which announced the news read: “Trincão (positive to covid-19) and Raphael Guerreiro (injury) were dismissed from the National Team.”
Wolves’ number 11 will isolate for 10 days which means he is likely to miss the first game after the international break away to Aston Villa.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Trincao who has had a promising start to life on the Black Country would have been looking to add to the seven caps he has for his country already.

The winger is yet to score in the Premier League, but came very close against Newcastle after his effort crashed off the crossbar.
He has already opened his account for Bruno Lage’s side after scoring in the 4-0 Carabao Cup win against Nottingham Forest.
However, one Wolves player’s loss is another’s gain as Nelson Semedo has been called up to Fernando Santos’ squad.
The right-back will be looking to add to his 22 caps for his country.
