Why David Moller Wolfe has a ‘really good feeling’ about Wolves despite Man City loss

New signing David Moller Wolfe shares his thoughts on Wolves debut and the positives he’s taking from Saturday’s defeat against Man City.

It was a long 90 minutes for Wolves this past weekend.

Man City overpowered the Wolves defence, putting four past Jose Sa to collect a convincing three points at the first time of asking this season.

But new left wing-back, David Moller Wolfe, isn’t dwelling on the loss, encouraged by what he saw from his new team.

David Moller Wolfe says Wolves played some good football despite scoreline

In an interview for Wolves’ official website, the Norwegian didn’t seem dejected after the loss, instead focusing on what Wolves did well and what can be improved.

He said: “I think we could have created a lot more chances. We create some chances, but we could also have created a lot more if we just got our timings a little bit right.”

Moller Wolfe was energetic on the left flank and looked dangerous in transition moments.

According to him, the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story of the game and he sees potential in the side: “For me personally, 45 minutes with the team before this game. So I probably need a couple more games, but I have a really good feeling about our team, and I also think that the fans can look behind the result and see that we played some good football.”

It’s great to see the resilience from Wolves’ new man, with a testing season ahead.

Bournemouth will be a better test of where Wolves are at

Despite their struggles last season, Moller Wolfe makes the fair point that this City side is elite, and losing to them isn’t something to be ashamed about: “We did a lot of good things, but then we did some bad things, and we were punished by a very, very good team. So, that’s the difference.”

Next up in the Premier League is a Bournemouth side that has been raided almost as much as Wolves, losing the key cogs to their back line from last season.

Vitor Pereira’s decision to press high against City didn’t work out, but against a new-look Cherries defence, the outcome might be better.

Every game in the Premier League is a big one, but fans and players alike will feel a positive result is necessary to prevent panic from setting in at Molineux.
