Wolves have the potential to do great things under Vitor Pereira.
The Portuguese has made a highly impressive start to life at Molineux since coming in midway through last season and guiding the club to safety.
In the end, there wasn’t a particularly strong push from the three teams that eventually went down.
But that is not to discredit what Vitor Pereira did. He managed to get Wolves to finish 16th in the table on 42 points. He was responsible for 33 of those points.
Much has been made of Pereira’s impact by Wolves fans.
Wolves were hurtling towards relegation under Gary O’Neil but, after some good recruitment in the January transfer window, Pereira got the team back on the straight and narrow.
And he could really do some great things if he is backed well enough – and potentially even bring back the kind of success enjoyed by Nuno Espirito Santo.
Vitor Pereira drawing Nuno Espirito Santo comparisons at Wolves

Wolves fans have already noted how Pereira gives off ‘Nuno vibes’ in terms of the connection he has built with the supporters.
It has been clear from the off that Pereira places a huge emphasis on togetherness, and he knows just how important it is to have a strong relationship with the Molineux faithful.
Pereira has drawn praise for going to the pub to drink in Wolves victories with fans, and the connection he has right now is certainly very strong.
The Daily Mail have produced an interesting report about the internal feeling about Pereira, and offer a line about what some long-serving employees feel.
It’s stated that some are reminded of Nuno Espirito Santo when they watch Pereira at work, and many are impressed by how well Pereira knows his own mind.
The 57-year-old is clear in what he wants, and that is to play a system with wing-backs, just like Nuno used to.

Pereira knows which players he wants at Wolves
There is also word about the kind of players Pereira wants to bring in at Wolves in these final weeks of the transfer window.
It has perhaps been obvious with the players he has already signed – with the exception of Jhon Arias perhaps – but Pereira is very keen on landing ‘tall, quick, aggressive players’, especially in the wing-back roles.

Wins – 12 |
Draws – 3 |
Losses – 10 |
PL points taken – 33 |
And he also wants ‘powerful central midfielders whose priority is to protect the centre-backs’.
Hopefully, Pereira will get what he wants with Domenico Teti and co hard at work at the moment.
It is stated in the report that the Wolves manager is ‘confident’ that by the end of the window, he will have the players he needs to be competitive in the 2025/26.
Ultimately, Pereira is aiming for a mid-table finish with Wolves, and it’s now up to the recruitment team to deliver for him.
