Who the highest earning player at Wolves is now after several high profile summer exits

Wolves bid farewell to some high earning players in the summer.

The need to make a big profit and cut the wage bill down was a big requirement for the club.

High profile names like Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Raul Jimenez and Matheus Nunes were sold.

And the likes of Adama Traore, Joao Moutinho and Diego Costa all left at the end of their contracts.

Wolves are now in a healthier position financially.

But things are not good on the pitch at the moment.

It’s just one Premier League win so far this season, and Wolves have now been dumped out of the Carabao Cup.

Some of these guys are on truly astronomical ages.

Erling Haaland of Manchester City is thought to be the Premier League’s best-paid player on over £400,000-a-week, just ahead of teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

It is interesting, though, to see how is top of the wage bill now at Wolves.

Previously, Moutinho, Jimenez and Costa were thought to be the top earning players at Molineux on six-figure weekly wages.

Now, The Athletic reports that January signing Pablo Sarabia the highest earner for Wolves.

The Athletic don’t actually share Sarabia’s weekly wage.

But Spotrac claim it is around £90,000, which is a very big outlay from the club.

For that kind of money, you would expect some really top performances from Sarabia.

But so far at Molineux, Sarabia has underwhelmed following his £4.3 million move from Paris Saint-Germain.

He just isn’t having an impact in games at the moment, and it’s disappointing considering the goals and assists numbers he’s put up at his previous clubs.

Wolves need him to start having an influence. Firstly, he needs to actually force his way back into the starting XI.
