Bull will always be an iconic name at Molineux. Every time the striker stepped out onto the pitch in Old Gold, fans knew they were in for a treat.

In his 13-year career stay in Wolverhampton he became a legendary figure. With Wolves in the depths of the fourth tier when he joined, the striker dragged the club back into the Second Division, now known as the Championship, and earned a few England caps on the way.

By the time he hung up his boots with the Old Gold in July 1999, he had knocked in a record-breaking 306 goals at the club, a feat that still stands today.

How long was Steve Bull at Wolves?

Steve Bull joined Wolves in November 1986. The striker was brought from rivals West Brom alongside fellow icon Andy Thompson for a fee of around £70,000 in a double deal.

With Wolves languishing in the fourth tier upon his arrival, by the time the striker left in July 1999, the Old Gold were in Division One, now known as the Championship, regularly competing for promotion.

His 13-year stay at Molineux oversaw plenty of ups and downs as well as multiple records that stand to this day.

What records does Steve Bull hold?

Bull is most associated with the top scorer record at Wolves. The striker found the net 306 times as an Old Gold player which easily puts him top of the list.

On top of this, he also collected 18 hat-tricks at Wolves, another club record.

On a national level, Bull has written his name into English football history multiple times. He is the only player to net half a century of goals during in successive seasons for his club thanks to his 1987/88 and 1988/89 campaigns.

As a result of his form, he was called up to the England squad in 1989, while Wolves were still in the third tier, becoming the last player to represent the Three Lions in this division.

Bull made his England debut in 1989, coming on as a substitute against Scotland. Here, the striker found the net with his form helping to earn him a place in the Three Lions squad for Italia 90.
