We examine which Wolves player went under the radar after they brilliantly beat Spurs 2-1 in the capital.
It was a stunning performance from Gary O’Neil’s side. Wolves bounced back perfectly from their 2-0 defeat to Brentford to keep their European dreams alive on Saturday afternoon.
Joao Gomes rightly is receiving all the plaudits after a sensational display which saw him dominate Spurs as well as score two goals. Pedro Neto has also received plenty of praise for his outrageous assist for the winner which allowed Wolves to take all three points.
However, one man who has gone under the radar was Toti Gomes. The defender was the pick of the backline in the match. The Portuguese international did not put a foot wrong throughout in another great display.
Here, we examine his performance to see how he managed to keep Spurs at bay throughout the game.
Toti Gomes kept Spurs at bay

Toti Gomes once again put in a great performance for Wolves. Despite being under heavy pressure at times from Spurs, the defender managed to not only restrict the hosts but limit them almost entirely throughout the game.
According to WhoScored, defensively Toti Gomes was well on top. The 25-year-old made four interceptions as well as produced five clearances, the second-most from a Wolves player. The defender also successfully performed two tackles, with only Joao Gomes completing more.
Passing-wise, Toti Gomes was also on the top of his game. The defender had an 82.9% passing completion, second to only Craig Dawson.
Even in attack, the defender was impressive. The 25-year-old completed the most successful dribbles for Wolves at two. Only Spurs goalscorer Dejan Kulusevski had more throughout the game.
Toti Gomes is having a wonderful campaign

Not only has Toti Gomes gone under the radar against Spurs, but he arguably has all season. Since Gary O’Neil came into the club, the centre-back has managed to lock down a position in the side permanently.
His 27 appearances for Wolves this season is more than his previous two campaigns combined. In this run, the defender hasn’t had a bad game as the club rise up the table.
His performances were awarded earlier this month with a new long-term contract. It is clear that Toti Gomes still has a lot of potential and could well be in the Wolves back line for a number of years.
