When Wolves will return to training ahead of pre-season schedule
The attention at Molineux has been the influx of arrivals early into the transfer window, with four new faces ready to compete in O’Neil’s squad next term.
It won’t be long until the manager gets to assess his new arrivals in training, as Wolves are set to return to work at Compton Park as early as this week.
Speaking on the Wolves Express podcast, Matt Hobbs confirmed that the squad will begin training ahead of 2024/25 on Saturday.
It’s expected that the Old Gold are set to travel to Spain to commence their pre-season schedule for a warm weather camp before jetting off to the USA for the tour.
Gary O’Neil will have a busy summer assessing his players
This week has been eventful for Wolves, who unveiled the captures of Jorgen Strand Larsen and Pedro Lima.
The two talents join Tommy Doyle and Rodrigo Gomes as the club’s first signings of the 2024/25 calendar.
Wolves fans will be eager to see how the new arrivals gel with the squad ahead of next season, with O’Neil’s work set to be cut out in preparation for the new campaign.
As well as getting to know the new faces, the boss will have to sieve through the 15 players who were out on loan last term, with some expected to fight for a place and some poised to exit swiftly.
Pre-season is a vital time for O’Neil’s squad, as the manager was unable to prepare for his first year at the club, arriving just days before last season’s Premier League opener.
Now, the boss will have the chance to work out what suits his squad best, with the 2024/25 campaign having the opportunity to see the squad progress after several years of mediocrity.
