When Juventus could make Domenico Teti decision amid ominous update for Wolves

It was surprisingly reported earlier this week that Domenico Teti is of interest to Juventus, and there has now been an update about the Wolves official.

Domenico Teti only came to Wolves in June as the club instigated a restructure.

That restructure saw Matt Hobbs leave the club, with his sporting director role being dissolved. Teti then took up a role as the club’s new ‘director of professional football’.

Teti works closely with a team of people, including Matt Jackson, chairman Jeff Shi, agent Jorge Mendes and his right-hand man Valdir Cardoso, and of course Vitor Pereira.

But seemingly, there is now a bit of doubt about Teti staying at the club long term.

Teti is in Juventus’ sights, and a potentially significant update has now been shared.

Corriere dello Sport have now reported that there is actual contact between Teti and Juventus. According to the publication, that is ‘confirmed’.

It’s stated that there’s admiration for Teti due to his ability to speak multiple languages, and also that he has previously worked in Italian football with Sampdoria.

But Teti is not the only candidate being considered by Juve.

Damien Comolli, the club’s general manager, is also looking at Marco Ottolini of Genoa. Comolli will reportedly make a decision by the start of November.

Corriere dello Sport do mention that Teti’s contract at Wolves could prove to be a stumbling block if he is the man Comolli wants to bring in.

It is also suggested that Wolves would have to ‘rework a newly rebuilt managerial area’.

Wolves could do without the upheaval of losing Teti

Some fans have been critical of Teti since he came to the club, having overseen what is currently perceived to be a poor summer transfer window.

But it is perhaps a little too early to judge Teti, who there can be some sympathy for due to the timing of his arrival.

Journalist Johnny Phillips did recently claim that Teti had made a good impression behind the scenes at Wolves, so these links to Juventus are far from ideal.

It has been a turbulent period for Wolves since the start of the summer with so many individuals leaving.

Wolves have attempted to strive for stability, handing a new contract to Pereira despite a tough start.

But it seems like there’s a chance Teti could actually be on his way after just months at Molineux – and the upheaval of him leaving and having to get someone else in would be far from ideal.
