What Wolves have immediately done in reaction to Premier League interest in ‘top talent’

Wolves will always act as a stepping stone for players looking to reach a bigger Premier League club or an established European side.

The Wanderers often need to replace their prized talent every summer, and under the guidance of Vitor Pereira, that is no exception.

After claiming he wanted to leave in March, top scorer Matheus Cunha finally joined Manchester United on Sunday, and since then, Rayan Ait-Nouri has come close to agreeing a move to Manchester City.

Pereira sent a warning to Fosun about asset stripping the Molineux side, and luckily, it appears the Wolves owners have listened to his demand.

Wolves want to change their transfer strategy this summer, realising they can’t risk relegation danger once more, and that means offering contracts to their best young talent.

Wolves have offered Mateus Mane a new contract amid Premier League interest

According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolves are negotiating a new contract for ‘top talent’ Mateus Mane after rejecting approaches from Premier League and Serie A clubs.

Mane made his Premier League debut against Brighton in May, becoming the youngest Premier League player to feature for Wolves, aged just 17 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

The exciting teenage talent was awarded his debut after impressing for the under-18s with seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances.

The England under-18 star is inarguably the best talent emerging through Compton currently, and therefore, news of him being offered a new deal is excellent.

That being said, it remains to be seen whether he accepts fresh terms, as there will be some temptation to join a bigger club than Wolves if the opportunity arises.

Why Mane should sign new Wolves contract

With Domenico Teti set to become the new technical director and Jorge Mendes involving himself with Wolves transfers once more, an exciting summer awaits, even if Ait-Nouri follows Cunha out the exit door.

Now, with the added ambition of offering Mane an improved deal, fans may feel optimistic that Fosun have turned a corner at Molineux.

5 assists

Realistically, with a clear first-team pathway for Mane under Pereira, putting pen to paper is a no-brainer for the mercurial talent, as moving elsewhere could restrict him to just youth team football.

And after being given his Premier League debut, the 17-year-old will have a special affinity with the club, something he will be keen to continue in 2025/26.
