Wolves fans were already close to the end of their tether, and the performance against Sunderland definitely hasn’t helped.
This was viewed as a must-win game for Wolves, and yet, they hardly caused Regis Le Bris’ side a problem over the 90 minutes.
The goals were somewhat unlucky, but the general performance was as bad as we’ve seen this season.

Wolves needed something different to cause Sunderland a problem, and fans made it clear what that was in the latter stages of the game.
The problem with Wolves fans cheering for a Vitor Pereira decision
Ladislav Krejci’s late own goal gives the result an even worse complexion, but during ordinary time, it was just a one-goal gap that needed bridging.
But again, Vitor Pereira’s decision-making let his side down. Before the 76th minute, he made just one substitution, bringing on Ki-Jana Hoever in place of the returning Matt Doherty.
That was never going to move the needle for Wolves in attack.
Finally, with just 14 minutes left on the clock, Pereira brought on Fer Lopez and Tolu Arokodare. A rare cheer erupted from the away end, with fans excited to see some initiative being taken on the sideline.
But the cheers only serve to emphasise the fact that those attacking changes should have been made much earlier.
A sombre post-game interaction with the Wolves support
After the final whistle, players and staff alike went to the away end to applaud the travelling support.
They were met with an understandable frostiness from Wolves fans far from pleased with how the afternoon unfolded.
This is a dark time indeed for Wolves.
Over the international break, it felt futile to pedal negativity, especially after two solid outings. But it feels like this result has brought a question to the fore. How much longer will the club keep things as they are?
Getting a win in next weekend’s home fixture against Burnley is — it feels fair to say — essential for Pereira’s future at Wolves.
