What the Norwegian media are saying about Wolves’ David Moller Wolfe after Finland win

The international break is in full swing and Wolves have a record 15 players representing their nations.

The break came at a good time for the Old Gold, who have yet to pick up any Premier League points. It gives Vitor Pereira a chance to assess what he must do at Wolves to turn their form around.

There are seven new signings at Molineux this season and Pereira will need the new arrivals to start performing sooner rather than later.

He will be keeping a close eye on how his players are performing and Norwegian David Moller Wolfe was recently in action.

He was part of a Norway starting XI that beat Finland 1-0, and here is how the Norwegian media reacted to his performance.

David Moller Wolfe has not been great for Wolves, but he has not been bad either.

The full-back is still getting used to the Premier League, but Hugo Bueno is threatening to make the Wolves left-back role his own.

The Norwegian would have been looking to head into the international break with full focus on putting in good performances for his nation and hoping Vitor Pereira was watching on.

The defender was in the starting XI as Norway beat Finland 1-0, and here is what the Norwegian media are saying about him.

Nettavisen (6/10): ‘Sometimes good combinations with Schjelderup before the break, without the greatest dangers resulting from it. Decent day at work for Norway’s left back.’

NRK (6/10): ‘Norway’s best. Constantly came away on overlap, rarely got the ball, but gave nice opportunities for Schjelderup and Horn Myhre because of this. Should have gotten the ball more often. Only had to be in action defensively once in the first half, he handled that well.

Aggressive and good defensively in the second half, never turned off the switch even though the game was very dead. Continued to take offensive initiatives, even though he almost never got the ball.’

TV 2 (6/10): ‘Gave Schjelderup good working conditions. Came on overlap every single time. But like others, it mostly happens in the first half for Møller Wolfe too.’

Dagbladet (5/10): ‘A match that was characterized by Finland threatening little. He took some exciting offensive initiatives, but nothing came of it.’

Overall, it seems the Norwegian media largely agree in their assessments, although NRK did give him man of the match.

The general view is that Moller Wolfe was not terrible, but he also did not stand out, similar to how his Wolves performances have gone so far.

Hugo Bueno can challenge David Moller Wolfe at Wolves

When David Moller Wolfe came to Wolves, it was probably not expected that Hugo Bueno would challenge him quite as closely for that left wing-back position.

Bueno spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, and Pereira has already had a close look at him during pre-season and the opening matches.

On the other hand, the period of transition for the Norwegian has not been easy, but it would be unfair to suggest that he has been poor.

Instead, he looks more like a player trying to learn a new role and system, and that is exactly what it is.

However, Wolves unfortunately do not have time to wait for players to adapt, and the performances of Bueno certainly give Vitor Pereira something to think about.

In the short-term at least, the Spaniard could be the Old Gold’s starting left wing-back.
