Wolves suffered yet another dismal defeat in the Premier League, but there were more minutes for Mateus Mane.
Rob Edwards’ 100% losing record stayed intact, as the Old Gold fell to a 2-0 loss against the Bees at Molineux.
Wolves were in the game for around an hour, before Keane Lewis-Potter broke the deadlock.
Some terrible defending saw him latch on to a hopeful ball into the area, and he made no mistake with the finish.
He then got his second on 83 minutes, turning in after a nice move which came after a turnover from Wolves.
Wolves sit on two points at Christmas, which is the joint-fewest number of points ever after Sheffield United recorded the same tally a few seasons ago.
These truly are terrible times for the club, but there is one young man fans are growing increasingly fond of – and that is Mateus Mane.

Rob Edwards praises Mateus Mane after Brentford loss

Edwards made some changes to the starting XI to face Brentford, with Fer Lopez handed a rare opportunity.
Some had been calling for both Lopez and Mane to start, but Mane was again named on the bench.
He was substituted on by Edwards in the second-half, and it was yet another bright display from the teenager.
Clearly, he is confident at the moment and that assist he got against Arsenal probably really helped.
After the game, Edwards dropped a verdict on Mane that a lot of Wolves fans are likely to share – and that was that he looks ‘at home on the pitch’ in a first-team setting.
Is Mateus Mane starting vs Liverpool now not up for debate? 🤔
Rob Edwards showered praise on the youngster after the defeat to Brentford…
He said (via Wolves official): “He’s beginning to look at home when he’s out on the pitch. I don’t think he’s someone who’s necessarily got some of the scars that one or two of the others are holding at the moment.
“It was a real positive performance again from Mateus.”
Mane is putting most of his Wolves teammates to shame
Mane has now come on in each of the last five Premier League games for Wolves, and each time fans have been left impressed.
It is interesting to hear Edwards theorise that Mane doesn’t have the ‘scars’ that other players have, and you can see where the manager is coming from. He is arguably playing with more of a freedom than the others.

That said though, Mane is really putting some of the other players in this team to shame.
He is direct, unfazed and wants to make things happen. He put four crosses into the box against Brentford (via Sofascore), with Andre (who put in six) only managing more for Wolves (and he played a full match).
Following his showings in recent weeks, it is hard to argue against Edwards throwing him in from the start for the next game against Liverpool.
