Wolves suffered yet another defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest, meaning they have picked up just two points from 14 games.
Rob Edwards has been given an almost impossible task to keep Wolves in the Premier League this season.
There has definitely been an improvement since Edwards took charge at Molineux, but there’s still a distinct lack of quality from the players.
STAT: Wolves have now registered the worst ever start to a Premier League season, equalling Sheffield United’s record (2020/21) after 14 games ⚠️
Jhon Arias and Jorgen Strand Larsen have been two of the biggest disappointments so far this season, with a combined one goal in the Premier League between them.
Of course, in the moment Wolves should never have cashed in on the striker, but Newcastle United’s bid of £50 million is now starting to look rather good.
Rob Edwards questions his Wolves players at half-time vs Nottingham Forest
Nobody can question Rob Edwards at Wolves. He’s been up front and honest in defeat and has made clear improvements, despite no change in results.
The fact that he’s only three games into his tenure and is having to question his players at half-time in a game says it all, especially given the position we find ourselves in.
Journalist Tom Collomosse shared comments from Rob Edwards after the game, and this is what the Wolves manager asked his players.
This says it all about the situation at Wolves right now 🗣️
Wolves’ mentality is seriously concerning
The most frustrating thing about watching Wolves nowadays is their lack of conviction moving forward.
It’s almost as if, as Rob Edwards says, they are scared to advance and even have an opportunity to score a goal. More often than not, it’s almost as if they’re attacking their own goal.
Edwards has been hailed as the perfect man to force a mentality switch, and whilst we saw glimpses against Aston Villa, there’s just no hope right now.
We are just 14 games into the season and relegation already looks nailed on, with Wolves sitting 12 points behind Leeds United in 17th.
STAT: Wolves had just two touches in Nottingham Forest’s penalty area in the first half, their fewest in the first half of a Premier League match since March 2025 v Southampton (also 2).
