What Jorgen Strand Larsen has told Rob Edwards privately after jeers from Wolves fans

Wolves fans let their frustrations be known last time out against Manchester United after yet another awful performance.

Rob Edwards has a massive job on his hands to even secure a point with Wolves after four straight losses in the Premier League.

It’s no surprise that supporters have reached boiling point after the worst start in Premier League history, and there are zero signs of things changing.

One of the main issues is coming in the final third. Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare were meant to provide the goals in Matheus Cunha’s absence, but that hasn’t been the case.

David Moller-Wolfe thinks that Strand Larsen has struggled due to being up top by himself against multiple centre-backs with very little service.

Whilst this is partly true, he has squandered numerous chances and struggles to hold up the ball.

If William Saliba is not fit, do you think Wolves could cause Arsenal some issues by going tall and strong up top?

Outside of the Frenchman, their options are not the tallest… For Wolves, Tolu is 6′ 5" and Strand Larsen is 6′ 4"

Rob Edwards shares Jorgen Strand Larsen mindset at Wolves

Jorgen Strand Larsen looked rather aggrieved after Wolves fans jeered his substitution during the defeat to Manchester United last time out.

It wasn’t the best of performances from the striker, losing over 80% of his duels and being marked out of the game with just 18 touches in 69 minutes.

Since the incident, Rob Edwards has been speaking to Jorgen Strand Larsen about how he feels at Wolves, and his response was a positive one.

Speaking in his press conference, the Wolves boss said this.

“He was hurt by that; he does care. Maybe performance levels from him could be better, because there’s a high expectation because he’s a really good player, and he’s shown that.

“He really cares. We had a really good, long conversation. He was honest, and I was as well. I need to stress that. The lad really cares, and he wants to do the best for the football club.

“Sometimes, when you lack a bit of confidence, it can show, probably because he’s been one of our most important players.”

Wolves need to unleash two strikers against Arsenal

Jorgen Strand Larsen is often outnumbered by opposition defenders, and none of the midfielders get far enough forward to support him with the ball.

Having the likes of Tolu Arokodare and Strand Larsen up top will offer Wolves more of an attacking threat, as well as a different outlet.

William Saliba’s current injury situation remains unclear, but there is still Gabriel Magalhaes, who is undoubtedly one of the most dominant defenders in the Premier League.

The best hope that Wolves have is getting crosses into the box for the strikers to attack, as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s absence means only Fer Lopez provides a creative outlet in midfield if he gets the nod.
