Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott has emerged as one of Wolves’ key targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Matheus Cunha set to leave Wolves and Vitor Pereira wanting to sign at least one number 10, it is no surprise the Liverpool ace has been placed on their radar.
Wolves were first linked with Elliott almost two weeks ago, and those links have refused to go away while the 22-year-old decides what to do with his future.
In the 2024/25 campaign so far, the young attacking midfielder has started just once under Arne Slot, seeing his opportunities restricted to minutes from the bench.
It was even revealed that Liverpool wanted over £40 million for Elliott, an asking price that was seen as too high in the eyes of Wolves fans. However, should they be willing to trigger his valuation, the former Fulham man has already said how he feels about leaving Anfield.

What Harvey Elliott said about his Liverpool future
A huge decision awaits the 2003-born star this summer. Although he currently plays for the best team in the Premier League, he’s only featured for 265 minutes in the competition this term, and his game time is unlikely to increase in 2025/26.
Jamie Carragher once predicted Elliott to replace Mohamed Salah, but as the Egyptian signed a new contract recently, the chances of him becoming the main man down the right are next to nothing.
So, when discussing what the future holds for him on Merseyside, he reaffirmed that he wanted to kick on at Liverpool and remain at the club.
“I hope that I can push on [next season],” Elliott told the Liverpool Echo. “This is my team, I am committed to them and it’s just a situation that is always going to have a lot of talk, I just need to think about what is best for my future, my career and as much as I want it to be here.
“You never know what is going to happen around the corner. If I had it my way, that would be here, I would play each and every game here and stay here for the rest of my career but it all depends on managers, the people above and as I said you don’t know what could happen but as far as I am aware I am here, here to stay and this is the club I want to be at.
“Hopefully I am still here to be honest. It is the best place to be, the best club to be at and especially having the fans around us at the moment, I don’t think there is a better place to be playing.”
Cunha will be difficult to replace
The most pressing conundrum for Pereira to resolve this summer is the replacement for Cunha, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions.
For all of his attitude problems and lack of work rate, he is the only player in the Wolves squad capable of producing magic, something that is difficult to replace.
To find a direct heir to his throne, Wolves would perhaps need to pay upwards of £40 million, and given how Fosun limit the transfer budget, it’s unlikely that much will be spent on one player.
Ultimately, it isn’t worth Wolves triggering Elliott’s valuation, as there are arguably better players out there for cheaper and more suited to filling Cunha’s void.
