Matheus Cunha’s actions against Bournemouth could impact Wolves’ summer transfer plans, sources close to Molineux News believe.
The talk of Wolves right now is Cunha’s red card against Bournemouth, as the Brazilian was sent off for violent conduct.
Instead of solely being disappointed about being knocked out of the FA Cup, Vitor Pereira now has the frustration of Cunha’s suspension to deal with.
The 25-year-old will miss Wolves’ next three Premier League games after his clash with Milos Kerkez, which could have a serious impact on the Old Gold’s survival hopes.

Interested clubs will be wary of Matheus Cunha’s lack of discipline
Cunha is so important to Wolves, which is why Pereira will miss his presence so dearly before he returns to action in early April.
It’s a dire blow for the Old Gold, made even more frustrating as the situation could’ve been avoided had the player controlled his emotions.
After having a fallout with Ipswich Town’s coaching staff in December, Cunha was shamed for not learning his lesson, picking up another suspension for poor discipline.
While Pereira’s mind will be on how Wolves cope without their talisman for the remainder of the month, some of the club’s hierarchy might be wary of what’s to come later down the line.
Speaking to Molineux News, TBR’s Graeme Bailey revealed the implications that Cunha’s recent behaviour could have on a future transfer.
“Cunha’s discipline is an area of concern for some of his suitors, I can confirm that,” the transfer expert warned.
“If you are paying more than £50m for a player, all aspects are taken into account. Passion is one thing, but it has to be controlled.”
Upon signing a new contract at Wolves, Cunha became protected by a £62.5m release clause, something that makes a summer transfer all the more likely.
Bailey made it clear that if the Brazilian were to move on to a higher level, he would have to change how he manages his emotions, with the matter being a ‘major consideration’ for interested clubs.
“Doing that in the big Premier League game or Champions League semi-final – you can’t have it.
“Whilst no club has told me it would rule them out of bidding, it is a major consideration and is a worry to some.”
All signs pointing to Cunha exit
While clubs will be wary of Cunha’s flaw, it still appears likely that the Brazilian will depart Molineux in the summer.
The Old Gold granted the player a low-cost release clause after contract talks stalled in January amid transfer interest.
Several Premier League clubs admire Cunha, who is eyeing his next move as the player’s agent grew unsettled in the winter.
Cunha’s agent wants to exploit the gap in the market for his client, which could happen in the summer if the forward continues to perform so impressively.
One thing that does need to be echoed however is the 25-year-old’s discipline, with it being a possible stumbling block for a number of top clubs.
