Diogo Jota enjoyed three very good years at Wolves.
These days the Portuguese forward turns out for Liverpool, where he’s been since the summer of 2020.
He is about to win his first Premier League title, with the Reds currently a whopping 15 points clear at the top of the table.
It will be a nice sight for Wolves fans to see him lift that trophy, given Diogo Jota did make some very big contributions for the club after signing in 2017.
Wolves gained promotion back to the Premier League in the summer of 2017 after finishing top of the Championship with an amazing haul of 99 points under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Wanderers finished nine clear of Cardiff City so it was a rather comfortable title win in the end – and players like Jota and Ruben Neves were absolutely key to a dominant season.
Jota’s efforts were plentiful, but he actually had to be convinced to make the move to Wolves.
What Jorge Mendes Diogo Jota after he initially had doubts about joining Wolves

Wolves fans quickly became very thankful that Jota did join the club on 25 July 2017.
It was an initial loan deal, but it became permanent in January 2018.
Jota was an instant hit at Molineux, scoring seven goals in Wolves’ first 12 Championship games.
He showcased an ability to finish with both feet and was a constant threat in an old gold shirt.
It was apparent that Wolves had signed a player of real quality, and some actually wondered why Jota had even made the move, given he’d been at FC Porto and then Atletico Madrid, even playing for the former in the Champions League like Ruben Neves.
Back in 2021, Jota made an interesting admission about his decision to sign for Wolves, telling FourFourTwo: “A short while ago, I saw a Transfermarkt study that had the Championship as the sixth-most valuable league in Europe

Appearances – 131 |
Goals – 44 |
Assists – 19 |
“The Portuguese league was listed fifth, so from that perspective you may say that moving to Wolves was a step back at that moment, but I found the Championship to be very competitive.
“But it was about the project, too – in my opinion, Wolves have got the right people running the club. Sometimes you need to take a step back to take two steps forward. In the end, things went well and it proved to be the right decision, even if it sounded a bit risky back then.
“I had an uncle who asked me why I was doing it, but he agrees with me now! I must admit that even I wasn’t totally sold on the idea when I initially heard about it from my agent, Jorge Mendes. He eventually convinced me, and now he says, ‘See how I was right all along?!'”
Diogo Jota return to Wolves unlikely amid exit rumours
It has been suggested that Jota’s time at Liverpool could now be coming to an end.
Journalist Florian Plettenburg reported recently that the Reds are preparing to overhaul their squad this summer – and Jota could be one of several players who move on.
There have been some suggestions that Wolves might consider trying to re-sign Jota.
While Jota has previously called Molineux ‘special’, he is unlikely to desire a return, with journalist Ben Jacobs telling Give Me Sport: “We may have some suggestions of a Wolves return. I’m told that Jota may not necessarily be interested in going back to Wolves.
“He wants to join a club with European football; so Milan, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen are three other clubs to watch. Fiorentina have discussed Jota as well, but they aren’t sure whether the finances of the deal between them and Liverpool or the wage will make that particularly feasible for them.”
Plenty of fans would probably take him back, especially with Matheus Cunha likely to leave Wolves this summer. But seemingly, nothing appears to be on the cards.
