Wolves winger Hwang Hee-chan is in the form of his life right now – and his appeal back in his homeland of South Korea has never been stronger.
The 27-year-old was on target once again at the weekend, this time against Aston Villa.
Hwang scored in the second-half, but sadly Wolves couldn’t hold that lead for more than a minute.
It was Hwang’s sixth of the season so far, and he looks to be absolutely loving life under Gary O’Neil.
Hwang has seldom been out of the headlines this season when it comes to Wolves.
And the star isn’t just helping Wolves on the pitch at the moment, he’s helping to have a big impact for the club off it too…
Hwang Hee-chan hugely popular in South Korea
Hwang has a very large following back in South Korea.

And part of the reason for this is that there are fairly frequent updates about him that get relayed.
The Athletic ran a piece last week about the former RB Leipzig star, and shared something he does which is ‘almost unheard of’.
After any Wolves game, Hwang will stop for Korean reporters. Regardless of whether he has played in the game or not.
Journalist Gun Lee attends most Wolves’ games to report on Hwang and the team for Sports Chosun. Lee says of Hwang: “Hee-chan is always cheerful. He is a person who makes you feel good. He is humble and focuses 100 per cent on his work.
“Even when he had a difficult time due to injury last year, he did not waver and focused on his work. He focused only on his work with the belief that the results would show.”
Hwang helping Wolves commercially
As a result of Hwang’s form and profile being so strong right now, Wolves are benefiting commercially.
According to The Athletic, Wolves were viewed 2.56 million times in Korea last season – an increase of 184% on the previous campaign.

Wolves also took and order of 1,500 Wolves shirts with Hwang’s name on from a Korean wholesalers.
Finally, the club has seen revenue from South Korean online orders increase by 1,264% in the two years since he signed for around £14 million.
