Nelson Semedo has been speaking about Gary O’Neil, who is now two weeks into the job at Wolves.

It has been a whirlwind period at the club, with Julen Lopetegui quitting just days before the start of the new season.

Wanderers moved to bring in O’Neil and the 40-year-old has started with two defeats in the Premier League.

But there has been a lot to like about Wolves despite those losses.

A lot of chances have been created, and there is optimism despite a frustrating summer on the transfer front.

Although, some Wolves fans will quickly become pessimistic if the club do not sign some players in the next week.

But O’Neil has done OK so far, and it looks like the players have taken to him according to Semedo…

The full-back, who has started both of Wolves’ first two matches, believes that O’Neil’s communication skill are particularly good.

He says: “We like his ideas, he’s a good coach and the way he communicates with us is good, so I think he’s going to help us a lot.

“But we need time to work in this system and we’ve got to do it while we’re competing in the Premier League. It’s a harder way to do it, but we have a good team to do it.”

Wolves fans are hoping to see some progress soon.

O’Neil must now find a way of getting the team to turn some of these chances into goals.

Encouraging comments from Semedo about O’Neil

It is good to hear this from Semedo about O’Neil.

The Englishman has a massive job on his hands following the exit of Lopetegui earlier this month.

What is very important for him at the moment is getting the players to buy into him.

No one expected him to be in the hotseat a few weeks ago, not least the players themselves.

He now has to get a tune out of them all, and it sounds like they have responded well so far.

Results will come eventually if Wolves can play like they did against Manchester United.
