A new era has commenced at Wolves and Vitor Pereira has one almighty job on his hands.
The Portuguese is the chosen one for Fosun, who finally sacked Gary O’Neil last weekend following the defeat to Ipswich Town.
It was a decision that many fans had been calling for the club to make for weeks.
But Fosun persisted, clearly reluctant to sack O’Neil and knowing that not many managers were interested in replacing him. Indeed, Wolves approached Graham Potter recently, but he rejected the club as well as others.
But Pereira is ready for the challenge, and what a challenge it is.
The 56-year-old is tasked with getting Wolves to safety, with the club having had an awful start to the new season under O’Neil.
Results have been poor, and we’ve been seeing recently how the emotions of the players have been spilling over.
But with a new appointment comes new hope, and Wolves fans have already been comforted by one clip the club has put out this evening.

Wolves release first Vitor Pereira training clip – and fans are lapping it up

Pereira took training for the first time today at Compton Park, and has no doubt been carefully considering who to start against Leicester on Sunday.
He’ll be without Rayan Ait-Nouri through suspension, and it may well be that Matheus Cunha also receives a ban preventing him from playing, following his behaviour after the Ipswich game.
Tonight, Wolves shared footage of Pereira on the training ground for the first time.
It was only a brief clip, but it showed Pereira barking instructions, both in English and Portuguese.
On social media, some actually felt a sense of comfort hearing Portuguese lingo at Compton again.
Wolves must back Pereira
So the Pereira era is officially underway, and fans hope he will turn out more Nuno Espirito Santo and less Bruno Lage.
Wolves are taking a gamble with this appointment, but hopefully he can rise to the occasion – Pereria certainly has his work cut out.
Simply put, Wolves have got to make sure they back the new man at the helm in January.

It’s very possible we could be seeing some transfer deals facilitated by agent Jorge Mendes again after the revival of the Portuguese link.
Wolves officials are expected to try and land two defensive recruits for Pereira, and fans will hope that whoever comes in can make an instant impact.
We saw two years ago how Mario Lemina and Craig Dawson joined the club midway through the season and had huge impacts – and that is very much needed again this time around.
