Vitor Pereira will welcome what Hwang Hee-chan has just done for South Korea

The international break can represent a chance for players in poor form to get some momentum going – and one Wolves player has enjoyed a good outing today.

There are currently 13 Wolves players out on international duty, with Jorgen Strand Larsen having pulled out of the Norway squad to help his fractured hand recover.

But the likes of Matheus Cunha, Andre, Nelson Semedo, Jose Sa and Santiago Bueno are all representing their countries.

And another player who’s looking to be productive over the international break is Hwang Hee-chan.

And there is positive news for Vitor Pereira regarding the 28-year-old today.

It unfortunately hasn’t been a good season for Hwang.

The star was one of Wolves’ best players last season, but this term he’s been unable to replicate his success.

He’s struggled with injuries at times.

And recently, Hwang did say he was finally pain-free after struggling for a while.

So he’s looking to make the most of his time with the South Korean national team – and earlier today, he was on target for his country in a World Cup qualifier with Oman. The game finished 1-1, with Oman equalising late on.

The star found space between right-back and centre-back after a perfect through ball by Kang-in Lee, before firing in confidently with his left foot.

He gobbled up the chance in a way that was reminiscent of the Hwang he saw last season, and him scoring can only be positive for Pereira and Wolves.

The draw means South Korea extended the gap at the top of the Third Round Group B table to four points.

Pereira will be delighted after Hwang confidence claim

Hwang hasn’t had the season he will have wanted.

But there is still time for him to make a good impact and finish the campaign strongly.

News of Hwang scoring will surely delight Pereira, who does rate Hwang highly.

Pereira recently branded Hwang ‘dangerous’, and one gets the sense that the Wolves manager would like to use him more.

Minutes played – 847
Goals – 2
Assists – 1

But Hwang has to show more, and key to doing that is increasing his confidence.

Pereira has previously talked about Hwang’s confidence struggles, and knows that goals will do him the world of good.

Hopefully, Hwang can now kick on from this goal against Oman.
