Wolves are still yet to pick up a single point in the Premier League, but Claire Hakeman reckons one new signing already looks a real star.
Wolves lost to Newcastle United on Saturday, with Vitor Pereira making a number of changes to his starting XI.
It was a bold lineup and ultimately, it did not pay off as Nick Woltemade got the winner for the hosts.
It was always going to be a tough game, with Newcastle having played well despite having not won a Premier League game before the contest.
Wolves looked bright early on, but again fell short and the upcoming game with Leeds United is already huge.
And it will be interesting to see if Ladislav Krejci keeps his place in the side, after a positive showing at St. James’ Park.

Claire Hakeman impressed by Ladislav Krejci after debut vs Newcastle

Krejci was Wolves’ penultimate signing of the summer, arriving from Girona on loan.
Wolves are set to turn the move permanent next year, with the total cost of the move around £26 million.
With Wolves not signing a new midfielder at the end of the transfer window, Krejci has already become an important player in the squad.

He has the capacity to play in midfield, and sure enough, we saw that against Newcastle, before he eventually moved back into defence.
Wolves fans were left impressed by Krejci, and former Wolves Women player Claire Hakeman believes he already looks like he could be a regular starter.
She said: “I thought he looked very promising. I think he was very composed and comfortable on the ball.
“He seemed to take it all in his stride. He was somebody, to me, that looks like we’ve bought a player that is ready to go in the Premier League and he looks like he could play every week now and be absolutely fine.
“I think that’s obviously very important because we needed somebody like him to come in.
“I think it’s where he plays, is going to be the interesting conversation.”
Krejci could be Wolves’ most useful signing
The signing of Krejci was questionable in terms of the money that will be spent on him and how that could have been used to get a new midfielder.
But there is potential here for Krejci to actually now end up being the most useful of Wolves’ new signings.
As Hakeman said, he looked comfortable against Newcastle and it cannot have been an easy game to make your debut in.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
15 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 8 | -4 | 4 | |
16 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 6 | -5 | 4 | |
17 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 4 | 7 | -3 | 3 | |
18 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 4 | 11 | -7 | 3 | |
19 | 4 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 4 | -4 | 2 | |
20 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 2 | 9 | -7 | 0 |
It will be very intriguing to see where the bulk of his minutes come from. Of course, Joao Gomes and Andre are likely to play every game, but it could be a case of Krejci joining them here and there in midfield to make up a midfield three.
But one suspects we’ll see him cropping up in a number of different positions and seeing regular involvement.
