Vitor Pereira told he currently has four players at Wolves who can play for top Premier League clubs

Wolves are in the healthiest position they’ve been in for quite some time.

After enduring an awful start to the 2024/25 season under Gary O’Neil, Wolves are now the most in-form team in Europe, after winning six Premier League games in a row.

The last time that happened was 1970.

It’s been an extraordinary turnaround at Molineux, with Vitor Pereira having been a revelation since coming in.

He’s managed to get a tune out of so many players where O’Neil couldn’t, and people outside the Molineux sphere are now really starting to take note of what is going on at Wolves.

And inevitably, the spotlight is being shone on several players right now.

Undoubtedly, there is a lot of talent in that squad, and for Lee Naylor, there are currently four players who could realistically play for top clubs in the Premier League.

One gets the sense that Wolves will be in the gossip columns a fair bit this summer.

That is because several players are seriously impressing right now, and the club may have a fight on their hands to keep some of their best.

We know that Matheus Cunha is highly likely to depart, with Manchester United set to sign him.

But quite possibly, a few others could be on their way as well as the Brazilian.

For former Old Gold full-back Lee Naylor, there are three other players in addition to Cunha who could player for a top club in the Premier League.

He said on Matchday Live Extra at the weekend: “When you’re surrounded by, I think we’ve got three or four players who could play in most Premier League teams, in our squad.

“That’s Ait-Nouri, that’s Andre, that’s Joao Gomes and that’s Cunha.”

Andy Thompson then suggested Emmanuel Agbadou could also play for a top side, but Naylor disagreed.

“I don’t think he can play top, top. I think he’s a good defender, but I’m not sure.”

Wolves’ squad is littered with talent

Few could disagree that Ait-Nouri, Andre, Gomes and Cunha could all play for ‘top’ Premier League clubs and not look out of place.

There is also an argument to suggest that Agbadou could as well, even though he has not been at Wolves for very long.

If anything, this is a great reflection of the Wolves scouting and recruitment team.

Yes, there have been some poor signings over the years while Fosun have been at the helm.

But by and large, Wolves tend to get it right and that will mean the club end up selling for huge profits.

Fans , of course, just want a bit more of those profits to be reinvested to strengthen the squad again.
