Vitor Pereira shares Wolves injury updates on Emmanuel Agbadou, Rodrigo Gomes and Sam Johnstone

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira spoke to the media after the defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

For the Old Gold’s second-half efforts, Pereira’s side could’ve walked away with a result against the Premier League leaders.

Instead, Wolves suffered their 16th defeat of the campaign, with matters not made any easier by an injury scare.

Emmanuel Agbadou was one of Wolves’ better performers against Liverpool however, the January signing was hooked early due to an injury.

Wolves injury update on Emmanuel Agbadou

Agbadou had his moments of doubt against the Reds but, for the most part, was a solid member of Wolves’ back five.

Signing the Ivorian was a great decision by the Old Gold but, there’s now some concern regarding his fitness after being withdrawn early.

Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference, Pereira shared an update on Agbadou’s injury, as relayed by journalist Nathan Judah.

“He felt something at half-time, he needs to tell me and be honest, then he cannot continue in the second half, it’s a muscular injury, but I don’t know.”

The Wolves manager confirmed that the centre-back suffered a muscle injury at Anfield but was unable to indicate the severity, making for a daunting waiting game.

Why Rodrigo Gomes was missing against Liverpool

Agbadou came off injured during the game however, there were two further updates on the injury front that Pereira provided.

Missing from the matchday squad were both Rodrigo Gomes and Sam Johnstone, who have now been confirmed as absent due to injury.

Pereira touched on the duo’s problems but assured fans that the pair have picked up ‘small problems’, playing down the possibility of extended absences.

For now, the Old Gold will hope that Agbadou’s niggle is not serious as Wolves have work to do to steer further away from the relegation zone.
