Vitor Pereira shares promising injury update as key Wolves star set to return against Bournemouth

Wolves travel to Bournemouth in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday, with Vitor Pereira’s men aiming to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Wolves celebrated success on the South Coast last weekend with a 1-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium, which boosted their chances of Premier League survival.

Vitor Pereira’s side then failed to build on those three points as Fulham beat Wolves 2-1 at Molineux on Tuesday. Luckily, no damage was done in the battle against relegation as both Leicester City and Ipswich Town lost.

While Wolves fans are confident of surviving relegation, they have been without some of their key first-team stars. Emmanuel Agbadou suffered an injury against Liverpool and three other players have been asbent, including Rodrigo Gomes, Goncalo Guedes and Hwang Hee-chan.

Gomes was spotted in training on Thursday after suffering a short spell on the sidelines. Guedes missed the clash against Bournemouth and Fulham, while Hwang could return this weekend.

Vitor Pereira shares encouraging Hwang Hee-chan injury update

It’s been a stop-and-start season for Hwang. Due to multiple injury troubles and poor form, the South Korean hasn’t hit the heights of last season when he matched Matheus Cunha’s total of 12 goals.

Recently, Hwang got injured against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup, with Pereira expecting his forward to miss the next two to three games.

The 29-year-old has been absent for clashes against Liverpool, Bournemouth and Fulham but, according to his manager, will return to the squad this weekend.

Although Hwang has found the net just twice in 17 Premier League appearances, everyone knows the quality he possesses, and supporters will hope he can recover from this latest setback.

Hwang could leave Wolves in the summer

Hwang’s decline from hitting double figures in the top flight to being hamstrung by injuries has prevented him from showcasing his best form.

Multiple setbacks haven’t helped his cause, but Wolves could cash in on the forward this summer, especially given the interest in him.

West Ham were linked with Hwang in January, though the Old Gold weren’t understandably prepared to sell to a rival midway through the season.

Marseille also tried to sign Hwang last summer however, Gary O’Neil was desperate to keep him, seeing him as an integral part of his plans.

Now, the former RB Leipzig hitman has fallen down the pecking order, and unless he returns to somewhere near his best in the coming months, don’t be surprised if he’s sold in the summer.
