Wolves have a huge battle on their hands this season after making a poor start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Expectations were low for a lot of supporters when the fixtures were released and upon seeing how the club struggled in the transfer window.
But most fans did not expect the club to still be winless after seven games.
It’s just two points taken so far and Wolves are rock bottom of the table. But two massive games are now coming up that represent opportunities for wins.
Matt Jarvis believes four points should be the minimum haul against Sunderland and Burnley, although both will feel Wolves will be an opportunity to get three points themselves.
The good news is that Wolves have made improvements in the last few weeks and look much better compared to the start of the season – especially defensively.
One man who certainly still believes is Vitor Pereira, who has today sent a message to fans on Instagram.
Vitor Pereira sends new rallying cry to Wolves fans

Wolves have been so close to getting their first win of the season for two games running now.
Against Tottenham Hotspur Wanderers were seconds away, before Joao Palhinha struck an equaliser. And last weekend against Brighton, Wolves again let slip a one-goal lead to draw 1-1.
Two points may well have been six and there is frustration for many about that. But Pereira – who was sent off against Brighton and faces a touchline ban – has today struck a defiant tone on social media.
In a message to fans on Instagram, he said: “Tough moments are part of the journey. We know results haven’t gone our way in the league, but this group, players, staff, everyone is fully committed to changing that.
“The work doesn’t stop, the belief doesn’t fade. We stand together, we fight together, and we will turn this around. For our fans, for Wolves, we’ll make you proud again.
A massive two weeks for Wolves
There is no overstating how big the next couple of weeks are for Wolves.
The fixture list so far has been tricky, but Wanderers should have a few more points on the board than they currently do.
The club’s current points haul and league position now puts huge importance on the games against Sunderland and Burnley.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
15 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 7 | 11 | -4 | 8 | |
16 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 4 | 9 | 12 | -3 | 7 | |
17 | 7 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 5 | 12 | -7 | 5 | |
18 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 7 | 15 | -8 | 4 | |
19 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 6 | 16 | -10 | 4 | |
20 | 7 | 0 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 14 | -9 | 2 |
Wolves could really do with winning both. But the two games will be tricky as Sunderland seek to climb the table further and Burnley attempt to get out of the relegation zone just like Wolves.
Of course, it is still relatively early in the season. But it is difficult to recall a bigger couple of weeks for Wolves, and hopefully Pereira can deliver as he says.
