Wolves travel to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in a rich vein of form under Vitor Pereira.
In Wolves 4-2 victory over Tottenham last weekend, Pereira made history, becoming the first manager at Molineux to achieve four Premier League wins in a row.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
14 | 32 | 10 | 8 | 14 | 38 | 45 | -7 | 38 | |
15 | 32 | 11 | 4 | 17 | 60 | 49 | 11 | 37 | |
16 | 32 | 10 | 5 | 17 | 47 | 61 | -14 | 35 | |
17 | 32 | 9 | 8 | 15 | 36 | 54 | -18 | 35 | |
18 | 32 | 4 | 9 | 19 | 33 | 67 | -34 | 21 |
As such, the Old Gold have climbed well clear of danger, opening up a 14-point lead on 18th-place Ipswich Town and almost mathematically guaranteeing safety.
The Portuguese boss has now turned his attention to the summer transfer window, as Pereira wants to keep his best players and build on the current foundations of his squad.
Supporters will also be pleased to know that the incredible Wolves manager has issued a promising update on his future.

Vitor Pereira wants to sign a new Wolves contract
Pereira is Wolves’ best manager since Nuno Espirito Santo, and several people – including Dave Edwards – have compared the two.
Nuno was part of the best Wolves side of the modern era as they qualified for the Europa League on back-to-back occasions under his guidance.
Now, it’s Pereira who is trying to replicate his success, and some will wonder whether he’ll sign an improved deal. Molineux News exclusively revealed that Pereira could sign a new contract towards the end of the year, and the Wanderers boss has now issued his own update.
“Of course, if I’m happy and the club is happy, it’s normal that I keep going with my work,” he said via the E&S.
“If I have a conversation with the club and they are happy with our work, I’m happy with the work I’m doing and the supporters are happy with the work – then we have the conditions to renew the contract and to stay here.”
The 56-year-old also sent a clear warning to Fosun as he would only sign a contract if their visions aligned and that means achieving higher than just avoiding relegation.
“If I want to take a club to a (higher) level but the club is satisfied because they avoid relegation, then this is not for me.”
“I didn’t come to England to avoid relegation. This season, that was the situation, but we need to build a good squad for next season to start to fight for the middle of the table and after, to look for other targets.”

Fosun must back Pereira in the transfer window
Fosun have a chance to somewhat redeem themselves this summer by backing Pereira with signings and keeping hold of the club’s best players.
In the January transfer window, Wolves were the second highest spenders, with the captures of Emmanuel Agbadou and Marshall Munetsi particularly playing a crucial role in their upturn in form.
But as Pereira has lofty ambitions and wants to achieve big things, he needs money invested into the squad, and that isn’t always likely.
Fosun operate with a self-sustaining model, using money accrued from transfer fees to sign players as opposed to pumping their own money into the squad.
That is one thing that frustrates Wolves fans and continuing to operate this way could be detrimental to the future of Pereira, who deserves to work under owners who are pulling in the same direction.
