Vitor Pereira says how many more signings he wants Wolves to make before end of window

Wolves have made just the one signing so far this January — defender Emmanuel Agbadou from Stade Reims.

Agbadou signed for Wolves on a four-and-a-half-year deal and made his Premier League against Newcastle earlier in the week.

The Ivorian is unlikely to be the only piece of business the Old Gold do this month though.

Mario Lemina refused to play against Newcastle and looks to be on his way out. The midfielder is an option for Al Shabab and Galatasaray.

It’s incomings fans want the club to agree, though. Short on options, Vitor Pereira has lifted the lid on what he wants the Wolves owners to do between now and Deadline Day.

Vitor Pereira wants more Wolves signings

Preparing for a brutally tough run of fixtures, starting with taking on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, Pereira knows he must improve results as the side sit precariously close to the relegation zone.

And discussing the state of the Wolves first-team, although Pereira has claimed he’s ‘happy’ with what he currently has at his disposal, he has made a transfer plea to the club’s board.

The Portuguese tactician would like his employers to make at least one more first-team signing.

The Old Gold have been linked with multiple players this month. Wolves have been linked with Arthur Theate from Eintracht Frankfurt. Their movements in the markets have been limited since the arrival of Agbadou though.

Two positions prioritised

Detailing exactly where Wolves need to improve, Pereira provided an honest answer when asked which positions he hopes to bolster.

Unsurprisingly keen to guard against a void being left by Lemina’s likely exit, the Wolves manager wants the club to prioritise bringing in a new midfielder, and ideally, a new defender as well.

As things stand, Wolves are particularly light in the centre of the pitch.

Andre and Joao Gomes have both performed well overall, but the pair can’t be expected to do it all by themselves every game.

Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff has been linked with Wolves. Toon teammate Miguel Almiron is another player wanted by Pereira.
