There have been many exits from Wolves this summer, and Vitor Pereira is crystal clear on how he feels about players who want to leave.
Vitor Pereira has had to watch some of his most important players leave the club this summer.
Unfortunately for him, Wolves have been a popular shopping destination during this transfer window.
The number of departures is 14 players and counting. When asked about one sale in particular, Pereira was candid about his feelings.
Vitor Pereira was happy to sell Tom King to avoid negative energy at Wolves
Speaking to E&S, Pereira discussed backup goalkeeper Tom King’s departure, and he didn’t shy away from sharing how he felt.
He said: “I don’t want to work with players that don’t want to stay. All my career I did this. To feel the happiness and energy that I want to create in my group, I cannot work with players that are not satisfied.”

The Wolves boss thinks holding onto players who would rather be elsewhere can only harm the team.
He continues: “Negative energy is the worst thing you can have around you. As a manager, I want to recharge myself every day, like an electric car. I want good energy around me.
“If I come to do my work and I see bad moods, bad faces – I don’t want these kind of people around me.”
Pereira’s comments, while direct, aren’t meant in bad faith. King was a minor part of the squad, and his desire to move away was not out of dissatisfaction at the club.
But the manager’s stance on wantaway players could be a problem for another Wolves name.
Vitor Pereira won’t be happy with Jorgen Strand Larsen wanting Newcastle
Based on what he has said, it’s likely Pereira wasn’t best pleased to hear of Jorgen Strand Larsen’s desire to join Newcastle.
Wolves ownership has seemingly blocked the move, but the player made it very clear where he’d like to be playing this season, and it’s not at Molineux.
Pereira’s principles may be malleable to the player involved. King was fourth-choice goalkeeper last season, while Strand Larsen is arguably Wolves’ most important player.

If we get past the Monday deadline and Wolves still have their star man, you would hope the issue can be put to bed.
In fairness to Strand Larsen, his desire to move hasn’t manifested in the ugliness we have seen with other strikers around the Premier League.
